The Modita team and Cunningham Restaurant Group stand behind the AAPI community

Cunningham Restaurant Group will soon open a new concept celebrating the food and culture of Asia.  The recent attack against the Asian American community is not the first, but it is in the front of our minds because it is the most recent.  You may ask why our restaurant group speaks out at times like this against racial violence?  First, our core values of connection, honesty, ownership, respect, fairness, and kindness leave no room for sentiments that exclude or victimize others, regardless of race, nationality, color.  The second reason, more evident now than ever, is that the celebration of foods and flavors from other cultures allows us to enjoy the diversity, heritage, and unique aspects each culture brings through food.  We treat that heritage reverently in our recipes and menus that honor other cultures.  And so we speak out against any form of implicit or explicit bias that keeps us from appreciating, valuing, and honoring diversity.
