Gr8 Comeback: Nesso Italian Kitchen

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The chefs at the Nesso Italian kitchen have a goal of pulling authentic taste out of local ingredients, but now they have some new reasons for people to come and visit the downtown restaurant.

Even though the restaurant, like many others, was in need of support, the COVID-19 pandemic gave the restaurant a reason to help support the community. They partnered with Second Helpings to make hundreds of meals for food pantries serving people in need.

“It’s been a really awesome opportunity to help out our community while at the same time giving employees hours which they otherwise wouldn’t have,” Nesso general manager Jared May said.

Meanwhile, May hopes people will continue to support the restaurant’s staff and their new menu items.

“Just keep on coming back to our restaurant, order carryout from us and also all the restaurants downtown,” he said. “It’s been kind of a hard year for us this year, but it’s been really rewarding and gratifying to see people coming through and making an effort to get carryout every week.”

“People are trying to keep us afloat,” May said. “It means the world and it really does help, so thanks.”
